TheBrown7s – Launching 2027
Over the last few months, Archie Callaghan (W 18-23) and Ben Redshaw (S 16-23) have been working behind the scenes to bring TheBrown7s to life, an invitational Old Sedberghian rugby sevens team launching in 2027.
“An idea we’ve spoken about for years, and seeing other school alumni teams travelling the world, competing together and keeping those school connections alive was a big inspiration behind getting this off the ground. Creating something similar for Old Sedberghians, bringing people back together through 7s, reconnecting with old friends and building something that can grow year on year.
Competing on the sevens circuit at both elite and social levels, building a strong identity and creating opportunities for the wider OS community to get involved.
A huge thanks to Ben Collins and the OS Club, who have been a massive help and support in turning this idea into something that’s finally coming together.
There has been plenty to sort behind the scenes, and it is great to finally see everything starting to come together. We are now looking for sponsors and partners who would like to get involved and support the team ahead of our first season, with tournaments planned across the UK and the ambition to compete in several international tournaments. Looking further ahead, we also have ambitions to expand the concept to include OS netball and hockey, creating more opportunities to bring the wider OS community together.
If you are interested in sponsoring or partnering with us, please message or email me for the sponsorship deck. Any support would be hugely appreciated.
