According to his Valete notice, amongst other school achievements he was Head of Hart House, a School Prefect, represented the 1st XV and 1st XI, and was a CSM in the cadets. His brother’s Michael F. Smith and Brian G. Smith, and in an earlier generation his father John Smith, and uncles Thomas B. Smith and Robert C. Smith also attended Sedbergh.
